What is the best way to spend/invest $315 to make it pay off?
I know you're laughing - but that's ok as long as you offer an idea! The $315 is money donated during a community service project of the three kids of we three kids. We were not seeking cash donations. We were collecting outgrown coats to be given to kids in need of warm winter wear - and really - people insisted on giving money as well as coats. So we have this bit of money to use. But use it for what? We got all the coats, gloves, and caps we need. We even used a little of it to purchase lap blankets for a nursing home. Our expenses for the project we paid ourselves. Their website is 'local' but does have info of extended interest outside the local area. The cost of the site comes out of HappyGrams account and doesn't need to be reimbursed by the kids. In other words, they have no expenses to cover.
So - if we spend the money just to dispose of it, it's just gone. The bank's interest is a joke. It's not enough for a CD. Savings bonds take too long to mature. There's really nothing on their site 'to sell' yet (nothing to justify advertising the site yet) and not enough traffic yet. Just Google ads, an Amazon store, and a Google search box. I have no idea what to do with this money. I would like to find a way to use it to 'make more money' for the kids' community service projects. Any ideas on how to do it?
