I've been with the planet for the past few months now. Support is great and uptime is wonderful. I once had a problem with the dns not working and their support staff called me on the phone on a Friday night to let me know that the my websites were back online.

They were up and running fine when I got home and boy was I pleased. I've tried Liquidweb in the past and back in January - April while I was away from the internet, my partner reported to me that Liquidweb tried to update our harddrives and change them to a better one, however; they failed to bring along on our forum databases.

Needless to say, that forum had to start from scratch. 2,500 members, 60,000 posts and 5,000 threads. That wasn't fun at all.

So, who's your hosting provider? Have a story to share? Let us hear it!

I use Servint. Been with them for probably close to two years now, haven't had any issues with them at all.

I use dot5hosting.

All I use it for is my personal website so I don't need anything fancy just cheap.

Though they just redid their site and stuff and have limited the uploads to 10mb!!!! And only to only a limited number of file formats for multimedia. I was a little ticked at that.

I have used Downtownhost LLC for about a year and have not had any issues. They are easy to get ahold of when I needed to.

I`m also with ServInt and have been for a few months.

I was with Dathorn previously for about 5-6 years with very minimal problems (one major hardware failure, it happens, and a downed somethingerother further up the food chain that affected more then just Dathorn and wasnt dathorns fault)

I am currently with 1&1 and I want to change.

I took a look at HostGator and it seems very promising, anyone care to offer comments on them? If they're really worth it and such?

Thanks.

I use Dreamhost. Simple price. Cheap and nice to start out with. Their custom web panel is great and the support responds to my custom service ticket within 30min-1hour.

I host a few forums on the basic plan and I still have yet to run into CPU problems. I'll be switching to a VPS once my monetization pays for it.
