Hi my friends. I want to talk about the webmaster borders.When i want to get a ad , people ask me pr and alexa. I have a very good point on alexa but now it is decrease and i do not know why.Also my directory was a pr4 but suddenly it get a pr0. Now google gives me a pr2 , it is really comic. I dream about a pr5 but i found a pr2 .)

So, why we have borders like this.They all can go suddenly...

What do you think about?

Your Alexa rank fell because less people with the toolbar installed have been visiting your site.

Why? Most know around here that those tools are for the most part, useless. Tell your "clients" that those tools are very inaccurate, and look at your site logs for useful traffic numbers.

James, thanks my friend, but in business, people really ask me about that things.

Alexa is about toolbar, and a toolbar cant rank my site.Because lots of people knows toolbars is nearly a ad-aware.And we do not about the google algorithm. Sometimes i think they cant see the difference black(not the bad ones, paid links, force backlink etc) and white sites.For ex, they penalized -around- all directories.

If these numbers are what people worry about in your field of "business", perhaps it's time to find new clients.....

Or perhaps it's time to educate them on what's important versus a stupid blue or green bar.

Sadly, know matter how much we try to educate them, I doubt they'll listen. These sorts of people don't have much regard for things other than silly PR numbers or rankings.

How can you say blue and green bars are stupid? Aren't you a member of the worthless charting for Excel's sake club?

Not to sound disrespectful but maybe your sales technique needs work, your clients wont know anything until you tell them in the correct way, even if they are in a similar field as yourself, they will have certain assumptions but as you and others have indicated, assumptions are often incorrect.

I get a lot of the 'I know what I'm talking about' in my field (I get business referred from other people in my field) and until they are educated in a manner they are receptive to (which will differ depending on the company, person or client) they will have no reason to change their opinion of what is and is not what they should be looking at as 'quality' indicators.

The reason people refer to me is I specialise in the same field they deal in (they do not specialise in one area though) maybe you should mention to your ‘clients’ that, if they know so much they should deal with the issues themselves – after they have confessed that they can’t or don’t know how to its fairly easy to put your point across

The first question I would ask myself before trying to change anyone’s opinion is why they came to you in the first place, what do they want from you, what can you help them achieve what they want (if you can answer these everything else, including their perception of what is right and wrong and what you can offer is simply a case of putting a square peg in a square hole)

BTW

if they found you in the natural search listings (because your site has good traffic) then the other stuff you mentioned becomes irrelevant, they found your site(s) and so will others.

James and Tamar, thank you also, i am pleased to read your comments.Very happy to see your comments, i am happy because you give time and effort.

All you right, and as a webmaster, i know alexa, pr is not all of the point.But i talk about medium, small sites.Why? Because if i have a really big site, then i can find some sponsor, ads etc.What a pity , when i started a job and focus "a quality content" but generally i cant succeed in. Main reason is "team" i think.Maybe i am false, but if i have only one friend and we work together maybe all things go easier.

I am optimistic, one day i make a really good work.) But nowadays, i think MEDIUM and SMALL sites have blue and green borders.

(i like blue and green instead of alexa and google .) )
