Hey everyone, i am a novice web programmer and i am working on starting a new site. However the coding, i already know, is going to be way beyond my ability. Its going to involve php which i know nothing really about and graphic design which would be a waste for me to even attempt. Anyhow what i was curious about is would it be cheaper to hire a company to buid this page for me or would i be better off finding a bunch of freelancers to do the work.?

Depending on the scope of your project, you shouldn't need a bunch of freelancers. What exactly are you looking to do, what is your budget, and what are the long term goals for the site?

I don't think he's asking for people on here to hire, if he was he should post in the marketplace

It really depends on what plans you have to the site, what you need done, what your budget is and when you need it for. Companies usually tend to end up costing more because of the added professionalism and the fact that you can trust them (within reason of course). But freelancers tend to have the more personal approach, of that you would be speaking directly to him/her rather than a support team, who will pass on the information.

But if you look around long enough, finding answers across the beautiful internet , you'll learn more of how much the thing you need for you site should cost, and then can use that estimate to decide if you want a freelancer or a company.

the scope of the site is going to deal with mysql databases i guess. two different types of user accounts paid and free. Also shopping cart so users can sell products. User pages are to be extremely cutomizable. Rating systems etc. Check out www.purevolume.com sort of like this kind of layout
