I'm now seeing a spot for ads under the first post (though no ad is there yet) with a link to become a premium member even though I'm logged in. It says:

If you follow the link, there are prices listed as well, so it might not just be for new members.

Yup, it show a price on subscription for 6 months and 12 months. Really want to know on benefit as a premium member, anyone knew about the benefits?

The option for premium membership has been there for a long time (over 18 months). It was something that was toyed with, but not developed. If it is truly introduced there will be an announcement. Benefits to a premium membership is one of things to be worked out.

Im not being funny, but i really think that senior members/respected members should NOT have to pay for no ads.

I mean when you look at it the people in the top 20 say for posts (and possibly TP) have probably produced alot of income over the years through people clicking on ads because they produced the thread/post (content)...

Surly it counts for something

Sorry Dan, I completely disagree with this statement.

I think that if you've been here long enough and have contributed worthwhile posts and threads, you shouldn't have to "pay" to get them removed. Just being a part of the community like we have should mean that we don't have to view them for free.

I have over 1,700 posts and have had over a hundred threads created, and I've only made about $1 or so via adsense (The only way I earn fro WT). That's hardly enough to pay for having the ads removed, IMO.

They are gone again. It was just a glitch when the admins were making a few changes.

I like my location too, I originally had it with no spaces, but then that meant my entire postbit took up about half the screen, and it looked really weird.)

I think the programmers are working on some things. I don't think the ads are supposed to be there. I am sure they will go away again soon!

... you know this only adds to some peoples views that this is becoming WAY to commercialised..

Honestly the big thing which made me sign up to this forum all that time ago was it was good, helpful and relativly ad free! where as everyone else had ads everywhere! ><

and now WMT is just like that! its got ads sprouting up everywhere! Wheres the AD killer!? can i get it in a spray or will the powdered version do?
