I do, although I missed the past couple of episodes, and haven't had time to catch up. BSG and Doctor Who are the only two shows I really watch on TV anymore. Most of what I see on network TV, and for that matter much of cable, is pure crap.

Yes, alot of stuff on TV nowadays is pure garbage. The only channels I really watch anymore is Scifi Channel, History Channel, Discovery Channel and NESN [for the Red Sox games and Patriot games].

So what do you think of the plotline for this season of BSG so far?

I had been wondering how they would address the impending Cylon presence should the fleet reach Earth. This is probably the biggest departure they've made from the original.

I watch BSG and Star Trek and Dr Who and anything else decent with a sci-fi them.
I dont know if you have watched a series called Firefly.
It was a series from a while back (well not that long) - called Firefly which, IMHO is a must for any sci-fi fan, me and my wife sat a whole weekend and watched a couple of series, couldn't stop watching it were brill
They stopped making it as they turned the series into a film called Serenity, also a must see....

Firefly was the best scfi show ever, too bad it only lasted 15 episodes..
I watched the first couple seasons of BSG but it seemed like new episodes came out sporadically, I've had a hard time following it.

Blah, I call it Battlestar Gacraptica. lol!
I tried to watch it a few times but I got really dizzy. The camera jumps around - kind of like the Blair Witch Project.
I LOVE Doctor Who though. And Stargate is another one of my favorites.

I had mixed feelings about BSG when it first came on the air. But, after giving
it a chance, I really got hooked. It just keeps getting better and better.
I just finished watching tonight's episode, Hub, and it was great.

The original BSG was far better than the current one.

In some ways it was, but I like that the characters in the new one are a bit more, uh, down-to-earth. I can even forgive the machines thinking about God plotline, just because it's an interesting premise. The original would have never had Apollo putting a bullet in a mob boss' head, or striking a deal with the rest of his gang. For that matter, it wouldn't have had anything like the kangaroo court set up right after the occupation. And face it, they can't possibly do a worse job on writing or acting when it comes to them getting to Earth then they did with Galactica 1980. Yeek.

The "down to earth" is what I don't like. From the little I saw, it reminded me of a corporate boardroom trying to run a space mission. Or a George Bush to Mars mission.

I don't know, that's what Star Trek, The Next Generation reminded me of. The new BSG seems more like running an aircraft carrier under constant attack. The battle scenes seem to be a lot more real, and would be even if they used lasers rather than bullets. If you watch a few more episodes you might see it. What I didn't like was that they changed a lot of the key characters, but I've gotten over it.

I liked the original a lot, never missed an episode other than when they lost the plot completely after finding earth.
The trouble for me is that what made certain things in the original appealing (it was the 80's, ideals were different and I were a "bit" younger ) - such as the cleanliness of everything (although not as 'clean' as the next generation granted) is played down in the new one which I reckon is a good thing. Also, just a gripe but I was always wondering in the old BSG why the cylon fighters weren't like they are in the new one - without pilots, all integrated.
For me the new BSG is moor gritty and if judged on its own merits will hold its own against any sci-fi series IMHO. Comparing the two is like comparing original star trek with deep space nine or next generation - in many ways the original was better, partially because of the memories it invokes but it looks a little dated and its just not quite as polished.
Thats my two cents anyhows...

Well, they're down to Earth. They found it. @$%!! Earthlings! Those maniacs! Those @#@$#%!! blew it up! Haven't we done the post-apocalyptic theme to death, if you'll pardon the phrase?

The humans and Cylons collaborated in an uneasy truce. They found Earth, but it turned out to be a nuclear wasteland. That was the end of the last episode.
