A lot of people here use 30 different browsers to see what their CSS looks like to Martians using Lynx. They use FireFox, but they also don't use it sometimes to do tests that cover more of the audience. I'm not asking about that.
If you use another browser, say Internet Exploder, or Safari, or whatever else, why? We're all geeks here, so I'm curious about the people who spend a lot of time on the web, and choose a different browser. Is it a feature you love, that FF doesn't have? Is it your operating system, and its default browser? Some compatibility issue? Force of habit? Something I don't even know about?

I have my computer on 24/7, thus resulting in my MSN Messenger being online 24/7. Whenever I receive an email, a small little box tells me so in the corner of my screen. Whenever I click it, no matter what default browser i have, IE is going to open that email.
After thoroughly reading, and replying .. I'm too lazy to change browsers, so I continue with IE.

Andrei is Internet Explorer set as your default browser in XP or Vista or is that something MSN Messenger automatically does; overriding the default browser settings.
John I use Firefox so I can't really answer. I'm curious to know how others answer though.

It wouldn't surprise me. I have a few programs that only open IE too. I figured I'd ask just in case.

I use FF at home, but IE at work. There are 2 reasons for IE at work - one is I'm too lazy to install FF at work the other one is that the UI for our online database only works in IE. I find myself looking for certain FF features while at work though

As a freelance web designer I use Firefox 3.0, IE 7.0 and Opera 9.0. I need to have multiple browsers because obviously no one uses the same one. If they did it would sure make my life ALOT easier. LoL. By my own personal preference I lean more towards Firefox I just like all the add-ons they have and websites load much much faster for me. You dont always have to install the broswers in order to see how your css or website will appear. This is a great website I found awhile ago that has come in handly ( http://browsershots.org/ ) I hope it comes in handly for you. I dont mind Opera I think it has very nice features it reminds me ALOT of Firefox. And IE well - I just hate IE more then words can say. I think if new computers were to come out with Firefox already installed on them much like IE is. No one would be using IE anymore. Thats just me tho.

My default browser is FF because it loads very fast compared to the IE but still I use the IE to check the website design and layout where FF lags behind...

Opera has always seemed fastest to me too. I can't say I've run any formal tests, but it feels like it loads and runs faster. If I wasn't so attached to some of my Firefox plugins I'd probably use Opera more.

I use IE, FF and Opera as well, depending upon what I am doing at the moment.

I'm sticking with Opera for the time being. I think the latest benchmarks show that its the fastest, but I mostly use it because I like the features (and maybe I'm just used to it as well). I also like that its not the most popular browser out there considering that it is less likely to be the target of malware or attacks. I just read on slashdot about a flash based attack that effect IE Firefox and Safari. Opera was not listed, but it may just be the case that no one checked.

That, I'm not sure. But you can tell they do some other stuff in their programming that's far and away better than FireFox.
