There have been 15 deaths due to the Listeriosis outbreak here in Canada. It's really concerning knowing that some of those deaths, have hit VERY, very close to home. Also, the list of recalls is amazing, and it's supposedly costing Maple Leaf Foods something like 22 million.
I myself try to stay away from this crap, however I fear that some in my family may have come into contact. For example, my mom recently took a cooking workshop sort of thing. After they were done the "How-to" part of it, they gave each audience member a free sample of what they had made. I know that this may seem like a small case of of paranoia, but I fear that one of the products may have been on that recall list! Recently she has been feeling very ill.
I guess my interest in the matter has grown, while researching symptoms and "what to do" for my mom.
