What you think about online dating services and online friends.

I find online dating very useful. I know a person for whom I post her data on several dating site and the result was good. She got lots of proposals. But the problem with that is if the two person live in different countries, they won't be able to know each other personally unless one of them visit the other. Anyway, many people got their life partner like that.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I have met up with a few people I got to know online. Generally, thinks were quite awkward between us.

The internet is a fantastic way of keeping in touch with people you already know, or getting to know others a lot better, but actually meeting someone online and then in the flesh can be a bit awkward (depends of course on you and the other person). If I meet someone offline once, even in passing, I might then find their profile or something on Facebook or wherever and then get to know them better - that way, at least you've already met each other.

Online Dating services is a good way to communicate the people. We can choose a friend which have a similar ideas and share our ideas also.

There is a difference between online dating and online social interaction.

Never tried online dating (not that sad

), still firmly believe that if I ever wanted to meet someone for a date I would go out and put myself about

- thankfully my wife would never allow it (the stuff I used to get upto OMG!)

Online socialising though is good but I agree with whym, it could be awkward as the people your talking to online may have an image (built from their own experiences / imagination) of what you look like and how you act - which can be very different to how people respond and act online - people tend to build mental images (not just how people look but also respond to things etc) based on conversations and I would imagine they are usually very wrong!

Humans have been dating the "traditional" way for 7 million years. Lately we've turned into a culture of market slaves, and become very isolated and anti social, so, apparently, the very old methods of meeting people have stopped working.

A friend of mine used to chat with a foreigner online and I find it quite surprising when that person went here just to meet her.. I was like a bit ohhhh my...and then he married her.
I didn't know that you really can fall in love with a person you just met online..hmm

I know quite a few people who met through eHarmony and Match.com services, and even some of those got married and are living happily with the person they found through the internet.

op says 'online dating services' and not 'i am 6.5, athletic, harvard educated' hiding behind computer in his parents basement liar.

sure they can try to bamboozle dating services but not to many will pay fees only to be kicked out for posing as some 'big shot'.

Earlier I was based on these kind of online dating service. But after two bad dates I think I am loosing interest in them or you can say that I had bad luck.

But however somehow I lost the interest and this can be raise once I got good and stunning date
