It looks like I've been banned from DP for "multiple accounts" ... or so they say! I've just been focusing on the Buy/Sell/Trade forums - in the Web Hosting section, and have gotten quite a lot of sales!
I've received some messed up infractions over the past few days - for supposedly posting in the wrong thread. I'm not too familiar with DP rules, however one is supposed to know that everything under 6 dollars goes in the freebies forum! To be honest - I haven't seen this rule anywhere! Even after reading a few of the stickies!
Now, today I just posted another promotional offer on DP - and suddenly BOOM I'm banned. Reason? Multiple accounts!
I could barely give myself the will to register one account with them! What kind of idiot would have two !!!!

DP is going to lose the case against eBay and most likely be shut down, so be glad you got an early start.

Right.
My only concern is if some future client for my hosting company decides to run a search on us, finds my DP account, and thinks we're untrustworthy because of the banned status.

Yeah if your ID have banned status than this really effect your goodwill and prestige. But I think anything below $ 5.00 should go to freebie section not $6.00 because for this I have got infraction and when I read some sticky I found that these are under their rules.
We do not know whether you have multiple accounts or not but to manage forum like DP they have to be strict otherwise DP will be mess.

But really when you think about it ... Where does my web hosting plans at 3 dollars a month belong more?
a) Web hosting forum?
b) Freebie forum?
It should be by category - not by price! If I want web hosting - I should have to look in only one place!
It has already become one BIG HUGE GIANT mess

It is some sort of a tradition to get banned at DP. I have gone back and deleted many of my postings there because I was afraid they would ban me too! I think they get a little ridiculous in DP with their bans. Really.

Well DP is becoming famous to ban random proper members and let all the spam link droppers do their "job"
I wouldn't worry about that too much.

This is absolute truth. I got banned from DP for multiple accounts, only because my original account I couldn't remember the password or the email that I used on it so I had to make a new one.
I even informed the admin there that I had this problem and they could delete my other account or do whatever with it. They agreed to delete it, and even stated that they did. But they banned me and linked me to the account they claimed they deleted.

with much respect to your second statement, but don't you think that it's already a mess out there in DP??

Do you know how long the ban lasts for? I'd say after it's lifted, just make sure you don't show up in the postbits, members list, etc. as banned.
Then just don't do anything over there anymore, and not even take the *risk* of getting banned again.
Although I don't think it'll be a big deal, even L.N. was banned from DP last year .

L.N? As in John?
I think you're right James - but the profit I can make from that forum alone is outstanding!

Well I guess that's the risk you'll have to take then. Either A) Rejoin DP after the ban and do business. Or B) Stay away and find clients elsewhere; and not risk hurting your company's image.
It's really up to you and what decision you feel is best for your company and online image.

If it was up to me, I would ban L.N from the internet!

Don't you have any other computer you could access DP if it's that important to you?
from work, home ? unless you work at home and then you have a problem.
Get someone else to register for you and post messages

I can reboot my router - and change my IP address. But I don't want to go register again, it's such a pain.
