Hi there, everyone.

Don't worry - this isn't a shameless attempt at self-promotion. I'm just trying to see what the community's thoughts are on the subject of recycling cell phones and ink cartridges for cash.

I have more information on my site, located here.

If you had or have empty or old ink cartridges, or old or broken cell phones lying around, would you send them in for cash? Or would you find it to be a waste of time, and simply throw them out?

Would you be more likely to send them in knowing that:

Some are given to people in need, such as battered women and military personnel.

Others are refurbished and sold, and those that cannot be used for either of the above services are simply recycled.

What if you knew that all shipping and handling fees are initially covered by you, but we refunded them with your payment?

Please vote on the poll, and post details on your thoughts here. It's greatly appreciated!

Just the fact of them not going into a landfill is positive. Charity as well. Being paid for unburdening yourself of junk is a pretty good thing, too - the icing on the cake.

You make some good points, Learning Newbie. Thanks. =]

As for you, jamestl2 - the amount of money you would receive is dependent upon what you send in!

Interesting. Seems like everyone is for the idea.

Can anyone explain, then - why it is so difficult to find people to participate in the program? =P

What can someone do to encourage more people to get involved in such a program?
