OK, I won't lie to you guys, I need some money.

I'm not asking for donations or anything (although that would be nice), just a little nudge in the right direction to get some more web design clients.

Things I've tried:

Craigslist: I email a few of the jobs which reflect my abilities, however, I have never gotten a reply

Getacoder: The jobs that I can do, I bid on, however I won't get accepted because everyone else who bids, bids the same amount, has more experience and is a premium member

Any assistance is appreciated

stick with Craigslist. My friend just got a steady a client who is bringing steady work to him. Remember though you are in the UK and the Pound is twice as valuable as the dollar. This means you are likely to be outbid in the much of the world. The Euro is atronger so you may have a better chance in Europe

Thanks for the reply, I never get replies from the posters at craigslist, perhaps I just need to keep trying, reply in a more professional way. How active is craigslist btw? Do any of you know how many replies a post gets?

Every reply I get on craigslist tells me to fill out some sort of online application, I've filled it out, but never had a reply back, so I just try the next place.

Try to look at forums.. There are so many clients in the "Need services section". You may try contacting them.
