I have a friend that told me they came to this forum to try and learn stuff about the web and you guys banned her? Is that true? Do you guys treat this like it is some secret club? Just wondering.

I can tell you that the mods here do not discuss their reasons for banning members; that is between the parties involved and they keep it that way, as they should. Anyone who has ever been banned from this forum has broken the forum rules in some way. I don't think the mods are trigger happy here. There are, obviously, some infractions that will get you banned more quickly than others. If you read the forum rules, you don't have to be a genius to figure out which ones they are.

If she told you, it's probably true. And if she got banned, she probably broke the rules which by the way you should perhaps read as well.
Zero Profanity
While profanity, when used properly, is an effective way of conveying emotion and/or thoughts, when abused it can be detrimental and offensive. Please keep in mind that we do have young people and people from all areas browsing these forums. Therefore, no profanity should be used. If used, it will be edited, and warnings/infractions may be given.

Wouldn't that offend any american readers with muslim origin? and by the way, this comment was made on a thread talking about Ted Stevens, which leads me to...ANOTHER RULE!
Stay on Topic

He's trying to push the boundaries to see what it will take to get him banned, like his "friend". It's likely best to let him do what he can to get his wish, tempting though it may be to let him know what we really think about him.

I don't know I feel about him. It's amusing but annoying.

I think Tim has nailed this one.
I think the mods should enforce the rules. No comment other than that.

well the mods have their own reasons to ban people not only with girls it also goes the same as with guys anyway one of the reasons why people got banned is because of spamming..

I don't know what you mean by this??? If you are saying somehow that I am trying to get banned than you are just wrong! I just wanted to know if you guys are some kind of club that does not like new members. and btw whats with the crazy avitars... It does not help the stereotype.

Her name was THEBUNNY, i don't know if anyone here would remember her, but she is the sweetest girls you would ever know. Her only fault is is that she loved tooo much. So my plan is to get enough talkupation so that I can become a mod and than I will lift her ban. Please feel free to add to my talkupation to help out. Together we can!

Don't you think that he is sounding like a bouncer or someone like that. Or may be a kid who come here to take revenge because we did not allow his friends to get in.
Boy this one is really sounding stupidty and we are replying to this as well

You could have a million in TP, it wouldn't make you a mod.

Well, good luck then.
Oh, and by the way, there is no "auto mod at x tp points", you know.
I think it's more an "we need help, who would be a good candidate ?" within the mods.
I'm not one (and I don't want to) but knowing how this place works, I am mostly certain that it would be like this.
And honestly, I never have seen anyone banned without either really serious infractions or if minor ones, several warnings.
Beside, the mods here are mature (in the meaning that they are not childish) minds that won't "pull the trigger" just because they had an bad day.

If you don't like it here, no one is asking you to stick around.
With a better attitude, you will see that most of us (well, some of us) are very lovely people

Maybe what you and your "friend" should realise is that this is primarily a Webmaster Forum not a kiddies chat room.
Yes, we have categories for off topic discussions and the like, but it is NOT Messenger, Yahoo! IM, ICQ, Myspace, Twitter etc. Having people littering up the threads with inane pointless chat is NOT what WMT exists for.
There are plenty of places to post if you simply want to "chat", here is not one of them.
