Greetings my fellow posters,

Do people really get into this pay for posting? Who of you out there can honestly say they have participated? I personally find it a big waist of time considering the fact most of them pay something like $1.00 for 30 'unique' posts. I don't need $1.00 that bad and most people I know don't either. Post what you think - thanks in advanced.

Sounds like a rip-off to me. On freelancer sites you can get paid 80cents to a dollar or two for unique articles written to be used as content (not forum posts) - which is itself still a rip off since if you have the talent you can monetize the content yourself and get residual income not just the 80 cents from the first months of display.

Forum posting for money does NOT sound like a good longterm career option. It'll probably also give you RSI... particularly at the salary-level you mention... 3 cents for 50 to 150 words?

So to get 1000 dollars a month (a decent income), IF you can even have that much 'work', would take a minimum of 33 x 1000 x 50 words... okay... 33,000 x 50... 330,000 times 5... so about 1.5 million words a month at least... you hands will fall off.

Why not become a postman/mailman... lots of fresh air, get out and about... seriously.

If you WANT to get a job freelancing like that i went to getafreelancer and it took a LOT of 'bids' by me before i got a 'job offer' - however I backed out when I considered that if I sat and wrote 1000s of articles and got a few hundred pounds for it I'd have totally wasted them... I mean 1000s of articles well-written and put onto a website is a PERMANENT RESIDUAL INCOME MACHINE... why sell em for a few 100 quid?

But that's what to do - go to that site, or similar, and just keep on trying until someone gives you a job. I can't believe I actually got one and then just abandoned it, but in the end you have to work out how much your time is worth. Besides, a lot of these people have no understanding of basic business etiquette and expect you to sit and wait for their replies but get mardy if you take a day or two to reply to THEM, and also they don't give you a deal without making you go through far too much rigmarole and bureaucracy. Plus you are working upfront and getting paid later. There's so many reasons why you should just become a postman if that's really your only option. Fresh air, etc.

If you love dogs, being a postman's ideal!

Hello,

I agree completely. I've seen on many forum websites including WebMaster-Talk.com how people pay via PayPal for you to go around and post on other forums regarding that particularly website. If you really have that much time on your hands take up a hobby or maybe start your own site and market it that way. Seems like such a waist of time and energy to me.
