My wife has been wanting one for a long time, and they handed out the Christmas bonuses today. We didn't expect one this year, with the recession and all. She's been pointing out that we'd be able to sell our TV and simplify a bit, have less clutter, but still watch Netflix, if I got her one. I was done with the Christmas shopping a few weeks ago, but I'd really like to surprise her now. (Don't worry - she's not bit on forums, blogs, or the "social web".)

So, has anybody used a digital projector in the home? I've heard they have LED models now, so the energy use is much less, and you don't wind up spending $400 on a bulb every year, like the company does. Also, I'm trying to pick out a portable one - she loves PowerPoint, and makes up slide decks for a lot of local charities, so I think she'd like being able to take it along and show them off while they're in development.

But I don't really know anything about how these work. Is the time right as far as technology goes? Should I look out for anything in particular if I'm going to get her one? (If so, I'll probably drive to Fry's or something and get one locally, instead of mail order - but there's still time if necessary.)

TP for anyone who can provide a very helpful reply - which is (or at least tries to be) the norm.

We don't have one at home, so I'm afraid I don't have much for you there, but whatever you do, don't buy anything Dell. Their customer service is awful, even just to replace a bulb. While calling about her work's projector, my wife was hung up on 4 times and put on hold 12 different times just to order a new bulb. After an hour and a half, she finally got the order in. Three days later, Dell canceled the order on their own, for no reason.

I can't see the image you posted, but I can tell that you removed the lcd plates from the optics prism (cube). Older Sanyo's there are 3 slotted screw adjusters on top of the lcds> they don't unscrew, but rather provide either tilt, left-right or top-bottom adjustments. If your's doesn't have that, then you have the newer style lcds, which require a Sanyo convergence tool.
With this tool, you clamp it to the top of the cube with 2 phillips screws. Then you would loosen the 1.5mm allen screws slightly (on either side of the top of the lcd. They a chrome like finish with a washer. Just look on either side on the upper portion of the lcd. You might try to adjust it by hand.
Loosen these 1.5mm allen screws slightly ther gently mode the panel side to side or up and down. Bear in mind that "slightly" means, just barely put press
on the panel with the slightest of force. Good luck
