I don't really chat that much, only use yahoo messenger whenever I need to contact my friends, but sometimes, I do chat in websites that has chatbox, whenever I have queries or something.

I typically use gmail, as it makes it easy to work and chat simultaneously. However, I also use aol instant messenger, if I'm interested in transferring a larger file, or really need to chat in a more expansive and dynamic program. Gchat does the trick though, and I find myself using AIM less and less.
