While reading slashdot I came across this article comparing programming langauges to religions. A lot of the comparisons are insightful and most of them got a laugh.

There's no real justification for that one. I suppose VB just gets a bad rap considering its limitation when compared with other languages. Personally I've never bothered to work with VB but I'm sure others can provide testimony to its usefulness (otherwise why would it still be in use).

VB is just an outgrowth of BASIC, which is what a lot of people (like me) learned on, since it is so easy to use. Other than being easy, it isn't very good.
