My turn to try starting a game. You have to post a really nice thing that you would enjoy having RIGHT now - something tempting and lovely (exlude - people you love, philosophical ideas, porn)
I shall start -
the chocolate in the minibar at the Victoria Hotel in central Amsterdam
(man that's good chocolate)
the only rule is that it HAS to be materialistic (no love, no lofty noble sentiments - just pleeeeasure... and nothing racey)

The fresh fish 'n' chips made in Christchurch, wrapped up in greasy paper.
That stuff is INSANELY good.

genuine mexican/texan hard shelled beef tacos - everything included
(oh for a real spacetime machine... one minute here, another juarez, or el paso, hell even somewhere in some ancient arabian desert (whatever it may be named). well, give it enough money for fuel and i suppose anything's possible with a linux server)
i hear steak sandwiches by the red sea are nice too
and after the feast of tacos (or if you prefer, steak sandwiches)...
proper southern USA pie and ice cream
and then two weeks of not eating anything, to return to normal size

white bread, toasted, with butter, sliced into two triangles, cup of tea, milk, sugar - november, in england obviously, about 4.30pm, at that hour when it is the exact antidote of the external conditions
it doesn't work with brown bread - brown bread is for mornings, lunch, other times, but not 4.30pm.
and then a second slice of toast.

i should have just called it the food thread.
what else is pleasurable? driving a very fast very top-of-the-line motor vehicle at 11am on a weekday through the middle of london, in july, with the entire city to yourself (everyone locked away in big drawers in building-size filing cabinets all day), and feeling like Patrick McGoohan (may he rest in peace), and maybe as an added touch meeting the guy from Rumpole of the Bailey for a sherry and some Iranian caviar or some cheese and crackers or something tasteful.
And not driving home, of course. I never drink and drive, kids.

An oyster card with infinite credit.
5 new suits.
A new flat overlooking the river.
3 cars.
An island.
5 farms. (one for each suit)
A small european nation.
And some of those fish and chips somebody mentioned.
And a pub. In yorkshire.
Large corporate offices, 12000 staff. A huge library overlooking the river.
The most ideally marinated and fried fish in the world.
Some beans.
Hmm... all at once it gets tricky. I think maybe things should come one at a time. I'll start with the small european nation.

Looking out from the river bank at both the Seine and the Eiffel Tower on a sparkling summer night, the stars and the moon offsetting the beauty of Paris, a heady feeling of having had enough to drink and a little bit more, the scent of someone else's hash mingling with the night air, maybe, since it ain't amsterdam, a lit cigar in my hand, and just for added wondrousness, a happy young couple nearby, their cute infant child playing joyfully and innocently in the night air, reminding me of the supremely good taste and feeling of real genuine mental and emotional freedom.

I just made the most gorgeous-tasting chocolate-cream biscuits I have ever munched. I bought a bunch of plain flour, since I have to boycott a lot of goods and retailers, so I have to get ingredients and make most things from raw (getting the ingredients in Indian markets in South London).
To make choc biscuits, get butter, caster sugar and flour in a bowl for your biscuit mix, (just knead it, and cut into biscuits and bake) and for the cream get some drinking choc, butter, sugar, mix it up.
**** tasty stuff. If I bought the equivalent volume of tasties from m&s I'd pay about 5 times as much and in other places I'd still be paying 2 or 3 times as much. Great idea for a new site... on my debtexecute domain - a perl driven web app for helping people figure out how to economize eg a frugal-eating-list generator, and other stuff. Not bad, eh? Still, one thing at a time, as the head of the mafia once said, a short while before faking his death and going off to Tunisia.
