My commnets to staff have fallen on deaf ears and I can no longer tolerate the problems created by the the current ad servers on this site.

I will just stay away for a while and check back later.

I am sorry to see this happen to one of the best webmaster sites on the net.

I'm not a big fan of being unheard of by the staff either, as my suggestions have also been ignored for the longest time now, so I don't think they're going to change anything anytime soon.

I don't think the admins care about the site anymore (save for Steve), they don't post much and most of them haven't even logged in for months, it's like they vanished (half of the admins I've never heard of before).

But anyway, when it comes to viewing ads however, the Firefox Adblocker Plugin, saves me from them nicely, so it's not an issue for me

I don't understand what's going on here. Are you saying that you're leaving because the site uses ads? Or because you think there are *too many* ads?

I thought that WTalk even puts up an adwords ad for you when you start a thread or end a thread. I can tolerate a few ads in exchange for a few dimes here and there, if that's what you're talking about.

But of course, since you've decided to leave you probably won't see this.

See brother its hard to change others but even harder is to change ourselves ... If we can learn the art of ignoring our lives would be heaven ... but the problem will each one of us we only see what disturbs us the most ... all i can say take out the stuff from which u can learn ignore which diverts ur mind ...

I came back tonight using FF3 instead of my usual browser IE7 just to see what was going on. I formerly visited daily.

The reason I quit was because what ads were being served sometimes had crapware included. Ads I don't mind. A site needs to make some money or else it would not be free. Google is safe ads.

A few of the other well known ad servers aren't as good about blocking crapware in the scripts. I just plain got tired of the that and have not changed my mind.

I won't be a regular again until management addresses and fixes the issue.

If you only use FF this is still the best webmaster help site on the net. IE users should be careful.

I believe Spybot S&D immunization system blocks out drive-by downloads of this kind of stuff through browser configurations and the windows HOSTS file.

Adblock 1.0 plugin for Firefox OWNS.... I never even see any advertisements on this site.
