I've been creating and managing simple websites on and off since around 1992. I remember having to use IP addresses rather than domain names.

Went online in 1991 just for simple emails to save money for long distance calling, this escalated to web pages, in 1995 is when I first started dabbling with web pages.
My first site was back in 99' it was a e-commerce site for performance auto parts.

My first 'site' or 'online community' was back in the early '90's with a Dial-up bbs / Intranet which didn't produce much at all (However I found it really entertaining to develop). After that, I started with a 'static ip' as my online address trying my luck at selling 'adult related' products. Lastly, I went into the wholesale business dba Brothers Variety Store which turned out ok, and that was my biggest online success.
My first site was around 95 or 96. I worked for an auctioneer and he wanted a site but didn't want to pay anyone to make it. That was why I originally learned, then left his employ for greener pastures
