Apart from career-spammers we're only here because we're too bored of whatever we're supposed to be doing, whatever is the real reason we have electricity connected to a computer and a cable (or similar) linking us to the worldwide web.
Today what I should be doing is this: going through the remaining 150 of my affiliates at CJ and picking out the ones paying in GBP then going back over all 600 or so that I am affiliated with and seeing which ones with other currencies could work for my UK clientelle anyway, then I have to go through tradedoubler, and after that I probably have to build more software and set a system up for some other country, maybe the USA. When I say "picking" out I mean the boring task of going and pulling out the link, copy-pasting it into an appropriate place on my server (but using the commandline, at least, which does make things much less hairy).
And you? What should YOU be doing other than making lay comments on a forum in the middle of nowhere?
Oh my god. W-T is advertising Oxfam at me now. I can't seem to get away from my conscience. SHE works at Oxfam, you know. She who must be obeyed. Can I not escape my sense of duty even for 5 minutes? Now I remember the purpose of alcohol. And tonight all I have is tea, for god's sake. Tea! Oh well, I'll have to just take solace from the fact that I'm a nice guy and somewhere down the line I'm sure to do the right thing and do it well.
"Get Links - By Relationship" says the firefox tab on the left of this one (that says "what i should actually be doing") - something quite salient about that. Naturally the moment I right click a new affiliate to open in a new tab the machine will require me to log in again due to how much time I've wasted writing forum stuff and watching Rumpole of the Bailey. I think I'll set a good example and get back to that tab now... the best things in life may well be free, but they also happen to be profitable! Stick that one in a valentine card, dammit. Let's be honest.
