I think that there may well be a surge of hacking bearing down on the post-"credit-crunch" free-market world, particularly western Europe and the USA.
Naturally it would be foolish to limit what you worry about to Chinese and Korean hacking, Russian and Indian spamming, etc, but it's worth being aware that between those 4-5 nations there is indeed a hell of a lot of ugly rubbish to deal with (and I don't see them, or the eastern european nations paying me any money while their anarchists try and break into my server or abuse it to sell viagra).
I think it is worth at least being wary of what to watch, even if what to watch for isn't something which ought to ever be absolute or limited.
1. Social network accounts
your facebook, myspace, hotmail, twitter, google account and other online reservoirs of private information, sensitive information and useless information - these are obviously being eyed up and koreans will try and get inside there you can bet on it
2. Websites, servers, businesses
Koreans want to get inside, Russians and Indians want to fill with spam via any open form, via email.
3. Employer records, Bank accounts, Government records
We have already seen numerous failures by governments to protect data - I believe now we have passed the early stage of this area of crime - international information thugs will now be breaking into your boss's machines to find your NI number and other sensitive data, they'll even manage to watch your work emails... the new age of overhead-free network-driven activity comes with this major drawback.
BE CAREFUL. Don't take it for granted that the numbers are in your favour - actually they probably aren't any more. The best rule of thumb is probably - only be truly open and honest in physical person, if you can help it, but often you can't - distant relatives/friends whom you have to communicate with because it's important. Even so, use common sense.
Change passwords regularly but also, upgrade, alter and change systems regularly - rolling stones gather no moss - shifting systems gather no security holes.
Appendix
Hi-tech gangs in London, as they're called by the highly original cheap press, are using eletronic hacking devices to break into newfangled expensive cars - eg the ones which lock and unlock as the owner approaches or departs, the sort of car with in-car cinema. Because of course your whole life should be contained in your car, and you should overlook reality and believe in gloss mein fuhrer.
