Many of you are probaly not aware but should care, that a major nasy fungus is destroying tomato plants all across the northeast.

The declared source of this fungus is Bonnie Plants, a reseller who sold their infected garbage through Walmart, Lowes, KMart and other big box scumtailers.

Personally, I did not get my plants at any of those stores.

But, since this garbage flies in the wind, today, I had to destroy my plants too. So the one and only time each year I get fresh, uncontaminated fruit is dead.

Join me in a moment of silence formy poor tomato plants and also join me in spending less at these retailers.

I called Walmart in April and let them know I saw problems with their
plants at my local store. They ignored the complaint.

Save America! Screw Walmart!

Sorry to hear about your maters, man. One problem we're having here is that a lot of folks born and raised here are all of a sudden having allergy problems. Seems that the source is all the non-native plant species being brought in with the rampant overdevelopment that had been taking place up until the recent crash.

The way to get Wal-Mart when it comes to complaints like that is to file them not with Wal-Mart, but the local Ag commissions, the health department, the BBB, and so on. THEN all of a sudden they take notice.

Here in Ohio, those agencies are useless.

The way to hurt Walmart is in their Bottom line.

We've reduced our household spending there 80%

Thanks for sharing the information Doug, I haven't heard anything out our way about the fungus issue from the reseller Bonnie Plants. I certainly can understand your feelings though, there is nothing like plucking a luscious looking red tomato right off the vine, the taste is totally different then the store bought tomatoes.

So far it's only affecting the North East. It blows with the wind and I don't think that company distributes out west. From the articles I read Ohio is the farthest west it has gone.

This garbage is a derivitive of the same fungus that killed the Potato plants in the Irish Potato Famine and itcan jump from Tomato to Potato.

It's so bad they don't want the plats composted. They should be sealed in a plastic bag and destroyed/buried.

Yeah it really kills me to lose this crop. Though small it is.

Oh my airborne, that could spread across the country and certainly do a lot of damage everywhere. One wonders where this stuff crops up from, where it originates from?

That's why I haven't heard anything out our way about this fungus, Doug. I sure can appreciate how you feel though, I would be angry too!
