Mine keeps failing to connect all of a suddden so I can't send any mail through Thunderbird. I can through Gmail though, and I can receive mail on Thunderbird!
Very strange, I haven't even changed any settings either.
That is strange, I have Thunderbird also, so far no problems with incoming or outgoing mail. Awhile back I did have trouble but it was the hoster. Hopefully you can find out what the problem is.

You're not alone. That happens to me too. The problem only occurs when your internal server has connection problems. It has nothing to do with the internet connection.
