hi i just thought i'd pass this along for anybody interested. i just heard on my local radio station that tonight (oct. 30th) at 8pm est. there will be a war of the worlds original radio broadcast tribute at waroftheworldstribute.com

sounds like fun!

I can't believe that this broadcast made a lot of people panic and go nuts. Its a good show but it does not sound believable to me.

Take it in the context of the time, Knight13.

At that time, there where almost only news broadcast, or a single type of music.
Not the plethora of channels we have today, and for the people that where listening to it, it was almost magic, how a voice could be transported that far.

At that time, what the radio was saying was the absolut truth. Nothing less.

It's said that the first people that see a movie of the brothers Lumière ran out of the building screaming in fear during the first projection.
That movie was a train arriving in the station. The people thought that the train would run over them if they stayed in the room.

Actually after 20 minutes of listening to the broadcast I got bored with it and shut it off. Tripy is right, "context of the time," that was the best they had for that period of time.
