I have a question regarding the two operating system Linux vs. Windows in the workforce.
How many of you WORK for a company where you are required to know how to use linux in some form? I am excluding if you run your own business unless you have a large employee base that you require the use of linux.
The reason I ask this, is, for the past couple of years 'out of work' - full time - I have been really locked into the linux environment. I have been playing around with everything from the gui to shell scripts and want to know if the effort I put into linux would be an asset to some company. I always hear that Microsoft dominates the workforce, but linux definitely has it's advantages over windows, and I know there's got to be companies using them.
Let me know your thoughts
I decided to add a pole to this as I found it to be better than just replies to this topic.
