Hi WebMasters,

Can you tell me what exactly means a Signature link spam, because in this forum we get signature while setting up the account so why does any one get spam coz of signature...cn u guide me the exact way of adding signature...

don't worry, it's just when people comment on threads, or start pointless new threads, purely to have their signature (which will contain a link or 3) appear. Their comments are usually pointless, bad english and utter nonsense.

"great info, thanks"

"yes. build pagerank to index site"

"i like site. is good site"

"SERPs are from Google"

"keyword density is important part of rank"

that kind of thing...

Basically what Ed described. I'd also add if your signature links to sites that violate forum rules. For example if you link to adult sites.

Generally though if a moderator thinks you are creating posts not to contribute, but to gain another signature link it might get flagged as spam.

And we allow that, in the form of sig links, to members who establish themselves by making worthy contributions to the forum.
