I was making fun of the ipad... "I" personally think they dropped the ball on this one...its an extra large ipod touch... Now if they had made a touch screen mac book pro...well then....

The one important aspect I cannot determine is which market they are trying to take over? With the iPod, it was the MP3 market. With Mac Book Pro, it was laptops?

I suppose one could say the iPad targets those who own Kindles, but I personally do not know many who own Kindles (or a similar device).

As much as I like Apple and would like to see the iPad succeed, I see it as an uphill battle.

The iPad is simply for those who don't need a full laptop.

What's the point in having a laptop with a touchscreen? You don't need that functionality on a laptop - you have trackpad and keyboard.

Most laptop buyers only use their laptops for internet, email, photos, music, video. The iPad is for those people. Plus it's better at books than the Kindle.

I think the iPad is awesome, certainly something I could see myself using at home and taking abroad with me when I really don't want to lug around my laptop.

I do think it's needs a USB port tho... I'm sure version 2 will supply this...

I watched a video of them showing the ipad on google, and to be honest it looks like a laptop without a lid or keyboard, i would rather have a laptop then an ipad.

I too am not much enthusiastic about the iPad... it's just a bigger version of iPod Touch and it lacks in many many areas like flash etc. and the current news is that iPad is for old people..........

I agree the courier is one fine looking product, given it essentially has a built in cover when closed, but I wonder why Microsoft wasn't able to generate as much buzz over it.

There are some other technologies that give the feel of writing on paper and have a screen that looks more like the kindle (epaper).
