Ok,
I have been hearing some people use Joomla to create websites, I have just had a quick look on youtube and it seems very limited, but I have only been looking at it for 20 or so minutes.
So if I have already made a website, can I still install joomla and use it to edit the website I have edited in dreamweaver?

Joomla is NOT an "editor".
It does NOT "create" websites.
Joomla is a Content Management System, you have to create the layout(s) (template), the system them allows you to add content which is displayed in the template.
It's probably due to the "chattering masses" (or should that be "twittering masses"?) who do not seem to understand the differences between a "site builder" application and a "content management" application.

Joomla is good CMS but i prefer using Drupal for any kind of website.
These platforms are so advance that not only CMS but you can create any kind of website.
We content is every where. Thats why these platforms are called CMS.
Blog, Static site, video website, picture gallery, news or magazine site etc. Almost everything is possible.
And the best part is that plugins are available for free (for drupal) to extend your site.
No coding is required, just understanding the things and settings are required.

What are the pro's and con's
If you've got websites already up and running, porting them into Joomla! is a real pain. I'd start again if I were you.
Oh, and what Chris said: it's a CMS, it will allow you to edit content, but not the site itself.

The ideal way to decide (though quite tedious) is to determine and plan your website then go to opensourcecms.com and research the system that will execute what you want. I think all the CMS apps are great. Some are simple and some are quite complex.
I dont know haven’t tried this network site still. And it doesn’t have the call me to try it. I have been invited to join but I always decline.
Why bother replying to a post where you have absolutely no idea what the topic is?????
It simply removes all doubt of your intent.
