Seriously fast train, but incredibly smooth and steady. So much nicer than flying: tons of legroom and much comfier seats  honestly, travelling by train is just so civilised compared to flying!
Yup - Madrid is incredible for shopping, massive department stores on every corner, plus loads of great little boutiques and stuff.
The area I was staying in wasn't modern at all, in fact, like much of Europe, it's pretty old there. But then like London, amongst all the centuries old buildings you get all this modern stuff too. Very cool. It's a very cultural city like London too, street musicians everywhere, sculpture exhibits on the streets and more museums than you can shake a stick at. Overall, Madrid is AMAZING! Really made me not want to come back to the coast...
Yeah I was writing lyrics sohad to have all the right stuff there!
