I don't leave my computer on overnight.

Here's my feelings on making the world a better place, through my tax dollars the government helps countries with different problems they are having. Therefore I help out with extra money or food in our own country, my biggest one is the food banks.

It's all a bit comical really, one one hand we have the "Earth hour" with a token gesture of turning the lights of for 60 mins and on the other there would be FAR more energy savings by turning computers that are not actually required, off during the night.

I monitored the power wasted by leaving machines, monitor PSUs, etc on overnight and at weekends when not in use.
Turning them off cut the consumption by almost a third, plus cost savings about ~£4 per week and that's just with one desktop and one laptop.

I sometimes work in the kindergarten with children who have some hard disiseases like DS and it makes me think that there are many people in the worl who really need care and attention.

I did, I am doing some charity works in our place when I have free time, helping NGO feeding malnourished children in some far reach area, and do planting trees.
