I really did'nt understand the ending, it look like that all died and went to heaven...right? This was really upsetting to me and other Lost fans. Was Ben inside of that church too, he said that he did'nt want to go in. Maybe he was going to hell..? They always say when you die and you do'nt go into the light, you will be a ghost. So if Ben did'nt go into the light, maybe he might go back to that iland, and make them all come back to life, if Lost fans our not happy the way the show ended. What do you think...?

I think a lot of fans who sat through 6 years of the show were putting a lot of faith in the producers that they would connect the dots on more of the unanswered questions.

If you think that the majority of questions were answered by the end of Season 6 , all I can say is that you weren't watching very closely!
See the link if you don't believe me.
http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1936291

I've heard some people try to defend the series with comments like "oh well, those things you mentioned are not really integral to the plot. Why do you need everything explained?" Well I would say, BECAUSE ITS FICTION! Why put it in the story in the first place if you have no intention of letting the audience in on the secret! Otherwise its just a stunt to drive up ratings.

It seems to me that we all assumed more thought went into the plot than actually was the case. By the end of the series it should be obvious that LOST was nothing more than a soap opera melodrama (daddy issues, love triangles blah blah) than some philosophical contest of good vs evil, science vs faith or whatever you ascribe to read into it.

As for the ending, well anybody who took a community college creative writing course will tell you that the first thing taught is that killing all your characters at the end is a cop out. And boring.

The producers half lied to the public at about season 3 when rumours were going around about the plot line involving "purgatory" and they sarcastically "poo pooed" the notion. When in actual fact S6 turned out to be just that!

Finally, I read somewhere the other day that most long running TV series maintain what's called a "Bible". The purpose is to maintain plot continuity and consistently. Well, apparently LOST went the whole of season one before the producers even thought about making a LOST Bible! Which can only lead me to conclude that plot consistency was never something that kept the producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse awake at night. Plus the fact that they have refuse to make the show Bible public can only mean that things were less than air tight and everyone involved in the production knows it....

Anyway, enough Sunday night ranting.

Even some of the Lost stars thought the ending sucked and felt confused by the plot.

1. "Prior to the airing of the Lost series finale, there was a two hour-special on the making of Lost. It featured a plot summary, show clips, show runners patting themselves on the back, and lots of glowing accolades from the cast about how amazing and ground-breaking the series was. Well, that's how they described it for the cameras, anyhow. One cast member had less glowing things to say when the camera wasn't rolling. Specifically, that even the cast members didn't understand the convoluted plot. This particular actor never had any idea whether s/he was "filming a scene of a flash back, a flash forward, a flash sideways." This same actor did not like the ending at all. S/he said that it "f*ing sucked. What a joke." S/he also joked that s/he might avoid public appearances for a while in case some fan who felt robbed at the ending wanted to throw a punch their way."

I have watch lost every season without fail, and i still do not understand the ending of Lost. When did they really die, before or after they crash on the iland? Why did Lost have the actor's look happy together in that church for, why would they be happy about dieing? There was really no way to end Lost the right way, that why they had Ben outside of the church, so if Lost fan were unhappy about the ending Ben could bring them all back...

I hope you are kidding!!

Mind numbing drivel!!

You'll be suggesting "Murder she wrote" or that crap with Dick van Dyke as a doctor next

The trouble with "Soaps" are they are not "Entertainment" they are merely distractions, have you not noticed around your family and friends that the ones who are capivated by "Soaps" are the same one who will spend hours on "Facebook" or "Twitter"?
Whole swathes of the population who have had their imagination sapped by mind numbing TV!

An appropriate musical interlude

I don't actually have a television any more and haven't had one for almost two years. (And don't miss it one iota)
If there is anything I want to watch specifically (currently Dr Who) I can use the "watch it again"

Planet Rock plays good music (new and classic) all day long and I have enough music in my collection to play for 12 hours a day and not repeat a track for six months.

But when I did watch TV it was things like Spooks, CSI, NCIS (occasionally) and my son recorded Bones onto DVD so I watched that.
I've just BOUGHT "A town called Eureka" series one and two 'cos I've been told it's pretty good (we'll see )

Yeah, just kidding

I am the same as you actually. I basically don't watch TV
(well sesame street with my son doesn't count).
Most of what comes out of American TV studios these days
is excretable. You Brits occaisionally produce something good (The Office - UK vers) but too often it seems juvenile "oo er Vicar!" type rubbish.

Town called Eureka looks good from the intro.
You sure there are no polar bears or black smoke monsters in this?

I think they "jumped the shark" when they started all that time travel nonsense.

They should leave time travel to the experts

The Doctor himself or Sam Beckett
