I have lots of odds and ends from different PC's so my son decided to put them to use, did you know you didn't need most of the crap you get when you buy a desktop?

Do you really need that $20 case when you have a perfectly good cardboard box?

Do you actually need an lcd monitor when you have a tv?

Lets take a look

So how much did you pay for your PC?

You wanna see his wifi set up, I wondered where that alloy drainer had gone, the funny thing is we haven't got wifi, but lots of people round us have, gave him a bit of advice on hiding his mac address, just incase like

That thing is a fire waiting to happen. I think you'd be better off with a completely exposed motherboard in terms of safety, air flow, and heat (ask any homeless person, cardboard is a good insulator).

Hey if it works use it, you should wrap some Christmas lights around that cardboard box and make it look like a gaming computer.

That does give me an idea, though. The cardboard is a fire hazard, yes, but using just an open wire or wood frame to screw the components into, with ducted fans blowing across to create negative pressure to suck out dust and heat, is far better for the electronics than an enclosed box.

My computer gets hot in the summer and i usually just take the side off and clip on one of those small personal fans that you buy at drug stores and they work great, they cool the computer off a lot.
