New to the forums so accept my apologies if this has been discussed or being done

Individuals are helping others on these forums and lots of people seem to be very tech savvy with some even having their own s/w development teams so I wonder why this Forum as a team is not working towards developing a product they could proudly present to the world? (I am not deliberately using the word "sell"

)

This forum might very well be bigger than any IT company in terms of workforce with all kinds for roles. Communication and collaboration tools like Google Wave can be used by 100 members to write a an SRS Document, team of another 100 creates Mockups, 50 Architects come up with an architecture, 500 coders .... couple hrs a day ...

Might earn bigger fame/recognition than having longest thread on a forum you know :-)

That assume of course that most of us here are motivated by the fame/recognition we or the forum receives.

You're welcome to try and get a project started. I don't think it will be as easy as you think, but I do wish you luck.
