When is this pizza slice ive just microwaved going to cool down?

I cant hold it..

lol well that depends on many factors, how long did you put it in for, how cold was it. what size is it etc lol

Deep pan or thin crust? Because that will affect the temperature coefficient.

Then the ambient temperature and surface area of said pizza will affect the radiated loss rate.

Failing that, put it on a cold plate and it'll be eatable in no time at all.

Usually anything that is red hot from the microwave cools down considerably a lot faster from an oven, no doubt by now you have had your delicious pizza....

Just a quick update, Thanks for the help.

It was a slice about the size of a small plate? ( Yano the smaller than normal ones? )
It was in for about 1:30mins, Piping hot.

Ambient temp is around 26c

Was on the same plate it cooked on.

Took about 12 minutes before it was edible.
Just as i was going to eat it i decided to goto the pub and have a liquid dinner.

So.
1/4 Eaten pre heated now cold pizza slice.

See know, there was part of the problem!

Plates also heat up in the microwave, because the microwave also affects the molecules in the material they are made from.

A handy tip is to warm the plates in the microwave before dishing up Sunday lunch, the heat generated by a couple on minutes is just sufficient to avoid coolling the old meat and two veg without them being finger blistering hot.

Leave it in the microwave until its cool. Who says you have to hold it?

Would anchovies effect the cooling rate?

That would depend on how they were arranged on the pizza.

Simply laid on, would not have any effect, but placed "edge on" so they were vertical from the topping they would offer a slightly increased surface area.
This of course would not have a massive effect as the contact area between the pizza substrate would be quite small so to increase the cooling rate by using anchovies they would need to equi-distant around the top surface at 15 deg apart.
Unfortunately this does lead on to a far more critical scenario;
