I have to say publicly how refreshing and what an absolute pleasure the debate here has been, this is what forums are REALLY about, they are not just for asking "Why doesn't Google show my backlinks". They are about expressing and discussing points of view.

And yes I do like to play "devils advocate" especially when it can stimulate a bit of "passion" from the other person on the topic and what they believe.

it's exactly what forums should be for.

i've had post pulled on some forums for exactly this kind of debate and reasoned argument, more's the pity.
i must admit i found it a bit confrontational at first, but i think that's because i'm not used to having a proper discussion and argument (in the better sense of the word) with someone else and their different point of view online.
