Operation Mass Spam

As webmasters we practically control the content of the internet. Which is why I got this crazy idea. Let's make 90% of the internet garbage. Just junk, let's make it syndicated content, automated messages, and spam.
Hmm... I was going to feature a viral video and maybe have the keyboard cat play me off but I can't embed videos. So UMM....
What do you guys think?

I've been creating the other 10% Zing!
That guy who spammed irritated me. I know that those people are going to have absolutely no results from that SEO wise but they do it anyways.
As for the link in your sig... When I see someone with 10,000+ posts I always check out the link.
Can I ask you is that link relatively new to your signature? Do you alternate links?

Just one guy? Having until recently been a mod, I can tell you that what little you see pales in comparison to what's dumped on here, and from what I see right now getting through a just a bit longer before being canned I can safely say the volume of it's probably up at least 50% more than that.
Regarding my link, the only one I've ever used here is to my portfolio site. I'm an artist and a designer, not a marketer, and even then, sig links in forums aren't all that valuable. The most valuable things in SEO are content, content and content that's relevant to your business, and links that are relevant to that content. Nothing else will help you unless that is first the case.

The bottom line is it's TRUE - WE the 'webmasters' are the ones creating this illiterate porn surfing gamblers' paradise, WE are the ones who have to cut it down and make it good, man. WE. And there's SO many people who are clearly just looking for ways to exploit the structure to yield money that's worthless. There should be heavy duty policing. I think "anonymous" and that lot should stop hounding corporate criminals, war criminals and major fellons and first wipe out all the spamming gits, really. People need to learn that in life if you cannot be truthful and have integrity and do things which are balanced, then you are a problem, and nutballs like me will eventually be your problem in return... and yourself there, Cameron Hamilton the ninth. Nice to see you again. It's been a long time since Eton.

Yea, it's just something I like to do for the hell of it. After 8,350 post you would think you would pass a fraction of the pagerank onto your website. Guess not, lol.
Cannon, nice dramatics lol. :P

To have any "link value" to "pass on", the page the links are on must have some value (from links) in the first place. Most forum threads will only attract a very very few, most of which will be from the other pages on the same forum.
Then of course there is the point that any "value" is shared between all the links on the page.
The average forum page will have in excess of 100 links, some pages here have 200+ links on them and no matter how many you you try to share nothing you stiil end up with nothing, so whatever gives the "experts" the idea that forum signature are "important" for rankings in Google is beyond me.
Ten - fifteen years ago when discussion forums/bulletin boards were the mainstay of the Internet there was a case to be made, but now ....

Absolutely but I don't want to live with a pessimistic view. For example when I saw that Pagerank 3 website in your signature I got excited. Gives me something to work towards.
Ultimately the most valuable part of posting on forums is networking with other webmasters who could potentially link to your website. ( As you can tell I'm trying to solicit links ) If that doesn't work then Oh well at least I tried to help some people out.
Of course staying committed to posting on a forum can be alot of work. Which is why I "Test" signature links as I put it to give me a positive view.
If you look at the SEO Tycoon forum you'll notice some guy posted in all the threads about 10 words each just to build backlinks. That's just ridiculous.

at least 99.9% of those people are ones that are not thinking of the long term. They want to make the quick $. What they fail to realize is that soon all of that will come crumbling down. Of course, in the end we will all lose because people like them made so many potential customers not want to deal with us anymore.

SGB PR is a effect of links NOT a goal, it means absolutely nothing at all

All these things are so vague and random, you just do them "in the hope" that they work, would it not make more sense (and less wasted time and effort) to do things that actually do work in getting REAL traffic?
Being #1 or even first page does NOT give any assurance that visitors and revenue will follow, you are simply chasing the "crock of gold" at the end of the rainbow. Which of course may well turn out to be a crock of shi something else entirely.

Funny but I'm a little more positive than that lol. That's just the benefits. The facts are writing a couple of articles I get bored. Instead of just sitting around doing nothing it's more productive to come post on forums.
The reason I think anyone cares about Pagerank is because it's imediately visible. I think it's a indicator to webmasters that if they're doing good in the eyes of Google. Which is why webmasters care about it so much. It's like a stamp of appoval.
