I'd also say no to both. Tron Legacy wasn't a bad movie, but there was something better about the original (in my opinion). Of course, the special effects were better in Tron Legacy though.

Biggest problem there is, super duper special effects don't make up for a weak (or lack of a) plot

that's why we get films such as (at the time) Lawnmower Man

The idea of this movies is unique, (excluding the original 1982 version) - the copying of the consciousness is, I suppose, possible in theory, so this is the time question only when we could be able to digitalize ourselves.

As for the movie - no scenario, was almost asleep in theater when they tried to build dialogues. But the action scenes are truly awesome.

The great idea, the good realization. Failed to write a scenario, but the quality of digital world and Daft Punk music are creating the great atmosphere of the movie.

I was told that Tro would develop into a trilogy, but I don't see how they could happen with the ending of Tron Legacy

No, I don't think so. A.I may take another thousand years to get smarter, not to mention we get in programs. But Tron Legacy is a good movie.
