I jsut received a spam e-mail from a company advertising for aob, titled Payment Processing Manager. Their website is transfergate dot com (don't want to give them a link!)

I'm sure this must be some sort of scam, but it's a bit confusing cos the website looks fairly professional (unlike most scams I've seen) and I can'tfind a thing on Google.

This isn't the first time I've received something like this. Does anyone know anything about it?

- Mina

Yeah. I never get even slightly tempted by these things. Any e-mails asking me to verify anything go straight in the bin. I was just interested in this one cos ther's no info on it... I like to read up on scams so I can advise others if they ask me.

It's a shame there are so many uneducated people out there who blindly go and follow these things...

Wow, you actually have time to go thru your spam....?

Nowadays, we know that such scams come in very professional-looking emails - very easy for scammers to acquire such templates. A few which don't can be easily picked out with their poor structure and grammatical errors.

Anyway, do you have a compiled list on scams like this?

Yesterday, I received two emails (one in Hotmail and one in Gmail) about a company depositing $1160 in my eGold account. They wanted me to verify it and they even had a scanned image of the check attached to my email. Wonderful! The attachment was scanned_image.jpg.exe. Hmm, I wonder why a jpg must be executable! I deleted 'em both.

Just a reminder, be careful with your email because of all the scams and "junk" (like Trojans)!

Dave

It is amazing but there are still many gullible and greedy people in this world who do not hesitate to ask why "money would simply fall down from the sky onto their laps...." or "what's the catch?". And these "uneducated" people hold diplomas and degrees..

I don't know whether to laugh or sympathize with the victims here... some of them lawyers hoping for a huge profit/reward by loaning their bank accounts for some fund transfers scams..
