Now why didnt I think of this?

This guy is selling 1,000,000 pixels of advertsing on this website for $1 per pixel

So far he has sold of $240,000 worth!!

http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/

And there are already copy cats on the net doing the same thing!

Great idea!

It will die out in 6 months. He is the only person who will make money from this idea.
It's a good idea, but it's one of those ideas that is only good once.

If you think about it, who would pay $1 per pixel? I know i wouldn't.

Who doesn't wish they'd have been the one to think up this idea? Lucky lucky man!

I never even heard of it until just now. I don't even know how you'd market such a site. I guess he's spending a lot on paid per click. I'm sure by the time he pays his paid per click bills, he won't have much left over.

It's a creative idea, but I don't know if people going to the website actually take the time to look for something that interests them. Looks like something "cool to do" rather than a form of advertising.

I keep coming back here to check on his progress, its interesting. We (the company) thought about placing an ad on there but $6,400 for an 80x80 (size of the avatars here), on my screen (1600x1200) thats a bit small. He says "Internet History", does that mean the ads stay there forever? How long before a) the novelty wears off or b) it becomes saturated or, is it just catching on? I think i will wait and see how far it goes...Either way I hope he gets his million.

He is one cool dude. However the flaw in his plan is that some people, aka the long set of Rs have taken up a strange amount of space, and make the Rs stand out. I think he should have charged a bit more for that sort of thing.

I remember seeing that when it was empty and thinking it was a total joke - proved me wrong.

But, come on, on a totally saturated page full of ads with what I'll bet is a ridiculously low CTR, $1 per pixel is a lot!

So, what do you think? With all of the inbound links, will page rank skyrocket or will it be a link farm?

Well sure it's a boring idea when you bring a two years dead thread back to life.
