I am seriously considering getting a "sponsored" listing at HotScripts, which places your script first in the category along with an image.

In my opinion, it is a rather large investment... so I was just wondering whether anyone in this forum has any experience? They staff has been very quick in replying and seem very knowledgeable and helpful.

So, any experience that anyone can share? Thanks, I appreciate it.

I wont recommend that. There are tons of other ways to get traffic and to get noticed.

#1. First of all the issue is that is it cost effective ?
#2. The links you place with the, are they Costs per click or cost per imprssion ?
#3. THis kind of advertising exists till the time you pay.

I feel it's better to work out other things like SEO and Link Popularity that work on a long term compared to those techniques.

nakulgoyal:

HotScripts doesn't charge per click/impression... you pay by the duration of the advertisement (for example, 1 month). It isn't too expensive, and it will be VERY targetted, I definitely think it is worth a try.

Yes, I would go for it and see how it works for the first month. HotScripts is probably the most popular script-search based site on the Net and you'll most likely get a good return for your investment.

icestorm: Yah, its not too expensive anyways... and if I don't get 3 sales directly from the advertising, I can at least hope that a few things happen:
- The name gets more wide spread and known
- People may purchase later
- People may recommend it to others who may buy it later

And if not, well, like I said.. it really isn't that much to invest and you'll never succeed if you never take risks!
