I have had NOTHING but a headached trying to deal with paypal over a bogus claim made by a LYINIG ebayer, and am unable to get the "limited access" status lifted. I have heard of troubles with paypal, but now i'm living it. Thank GOD I didnt have but a coupla bucks in my account. Something to think about If you keep a chunk of change in your paypal account, all it takes is ONE LIE!

Anyhoo, know of anyone besideds paypal? Im checking out stormpay now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm really curious about what your problem was. Was the lying eBayer a buyer or seller?

I use eBay quite a bit, both to buy & sell. And I usually have a large amount of money in my account. So I would really like to know more.

If you don't want to share details in public, you could email me(jon[at]yeahok[dot]com or contact me on AIM(SN in my profile).

and he was the buyer. I even offered to deal with him in AUSTRALIA even though I stated no oversea transactions. I suggested 3 times he purchase insurance, which he passed on. I got away from ebay for a few months AND paypal, and was surprised to see the status of my paypal account. I have tried to clear it up, but to no avail. I sent EXACTLY what he bid on, but due to his neglinence of no insurance, he didnt receive, (or so he says). Paypal shoots first, then ask questions later. I would read some of the stuff at PaypalSucks.com if I kept a lot of money in paypal. Really, if your a seller on ebay, you know how easy it is to get a hard-to-deal-with bidder, and all they have to do is make one complaint and.........

That really sucks, Ron.

Yeah, I've dealt with some real jerks in the past, but I've always managed to get the problem solved, to a certain degree.

I'll have to be careful about keeping my money in Paypal.

PayPal users beware!
I recently signed up for a PayPal account. A few days later I get an e-mail from PAYPAL requesting I login and confirm my account e-mail. Over 2 days I get six of these e-mails so I asked PayPal what was going on and they told me it was not them emailing me. Apparently someone is sending a spoofed e-mail with a link to a bogus PayPal login which looks just like the real one. Once they get your user/pass the form redirects you to PayPal login and you never know the difference. Anyway that was enough. I will not use the account or any PayPal service for that matter.

You aren't going to use Paypal because scammers send spoofed emails?

I know there are legit and good reasons to not use Paypal. But that isn't one of them. That's like avoiding restaurants, because there have been cases where employees steal the credit card numbers.

You can't blame Paypal for spoofed emails. They also warn quite often about the emails. Also, you can always tell when an email isn't from Paypal. Either it'll be in the headers, or it will be something in the email itself.
