I dig it. Lots of hot chicks, some are pretty intelligent. Good place for self promotion.

I just got an account a few days ago. Not spending to much time there. But why not use it like MSN, Yahoo, and Google groups to get visitors and forum members.

The target demographic of my personal site.

I am in the target market. Actually that's pretty much everybody. But main demographic seems college students and graduates and proffessionals in there late twenties. Those are the people I keep meeting.

Chishirst I'm gathering by your posting style that you are a dogmatic person.

This is where you are wrong...

Myspace is for way more tha just lil kids...in fact it started for music...However once you enter schools that you are alumni too you would be surprised at the amount of people that have this thing...I have recently started talking to people I had lost contact with fo years...It is pretty cool...I dont use it much but I have more so lately now that I have gotten in contact with a ton of people i used to go to school with...So I suggest all you that say "it's not my target" take the blinders off

oh and last time I checked a** wasnt a swear but whatevea

I suppose the shootings on the 6 o clock news are way better for your kids to see... I could go on but I will stop...

Casa I wouldn't say I wear blinders because I don't think I'm part of their target market. I've actually gone to the site a few times and in all cases I didn't find anything that ineterested me so I left.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me I didn't find anything there that made me want to stay on the site. It could be a very good site for all I know.Obviously lots of people like and use. I just don't happen to be one of them.

Sorry about that I was kind of rude in my post....Long day thing...

Any who you wont realize that you are in the target until you try it....I was very skeptical at first but like I said it is very cool to keep in touch with old college and high school alumni that you thought you would never hear from again (I’m talking the ones you want to hear from again)...Plus it is free unlike classmates.com and so on....

It is also great for networking and a good place to advertise a site...you can even set it up for that...What I mean is make one not for personal use but for a site u run...does that make sense...

I'm finding it to be of some use...plus think about the target audience you have it is HUGE....

I when I mentioned blinders I was more talking about the sterotypical saying of it is for kids...which it is def not...

Don't worry Casa I didn't see your comments as rude. I understood what you were saying. I do think the main target market for myspace is people younger than myself, but I agree it's not just for kids. And I also agree you really need to explore the site before knowing whether or not it's for you.

You even pointed out a few things I wasn't aware the site had and your post did get me to go back to the site for another look. I figured I would check out the school thing you mentioned even though there aren't that many people I've lost contact with that I really have a great desire to find. I was curious though so I went in and drilled down to a college I atteneded years ago.

Unfortunately before I could find anything useful I was asked to register and supply my own info. That's part of where I'm not in the target market. I want to see a little more before I'm willing to give out my name and email to a site. Had they presented me with a list of some member names it might have gotten me to register, but without knowing if there was anyone there I'd want to contact I didn't.

With a wife and 2 daughters, running a hosting company, building websites in my free time and also owning a construction company, I dont have time to chat.. Although I heard its good for getting traffic...

I've heard the same thing too about getting traffic though I wonder how targetted it would be for my business.

It's funny because just the other night a friend of mine called from out of state and she was telling me she added a profile to myspace so we were both online checking out the site for a bit. It's probably more time than I've ever spent there.

I can see where a lot of people would like the site, though I do still think it's geared more for younger people.

I think it is geared toward single people more than anything. There are classifieds, forums, chat, lots of hot singles. I'm 27 and single so It's good for me. Dating prospects.

I won't bank on anything from myspace but it is prospect.
