Hey guys!

I was just wondering if vBulletin is REALLY worth the $160. I've heard good things about it, but it just seems like a little too much to spend on a forum.

Anyways, any input whatsoever will be appreciated!

For those of you who don't know what vBulletin is:
a) It's the type of the forum that you're on as you are reading this message, or posting your own.
b) Visit http://www.vbulletin.com for info

PS: If you have anything website-related that you've copyrighted, please visit my thread by clicking here !

Thanks for your time,
and thanks in advance
for any of your input!

I agree with Fonz! IMO, vBulletin is the best with lots of options. The installation is supposed to be straightforward and not extremely hard. I think they have a service that will install it for you. If you had problems, their support and forum are good, too.

I prefer sticking to InvisionBoard. In my opinion, the best forum software. Also, it is free.

its incredibly easy to install

its just a case of loading all the files to your server, changing the permissions to some files and then placing your details in a configiration file in the installation process

Best board system on the web, very easy to customize and admin. Another good board system would be phpbb. I don't recommend any of the other ones that are hosted for you. They suck because they put their silly ads all over your board for the hosting cost. They really just like the traffic your board gives them. Also many of these board systems are annoying with registration.

Hi SmokingT,

I'm sure you'll find that vBulletin is a most excellent forum software. I'm not sure if the improvements in security, features, and support are worth the $160 or not, but price aside, vBulletin is the best forum on the net if you've got the money.
