I was curious if any of you use VoIP (Voice Over IP, Voice Over Telephone etc..) and if so who do you use? What has been your experience with it so far??

The main issue keeping me from switching to a VoIP Phone Service is getting it to work with my home's alarm system...

I dumped my local phone provider a few months ago and have never looked back. I use Vonage now and couldn't be happier. It's cheaper then the phone company and you get tons more features.

I don't know how your alarm system works, but if you setup VOIP correctly then it shouldn't make a difference because it acts exactly like a regular phone line coming into your house. If the alarm company relies on your phone number to tell who you are, then it could cuase problems.

I tried Vonage and had no luck...They couldnt figure out why it wasnt working correctly and then the charged me for stopping service...........poor customer service......It would have been much cheaper......good luck...
