A person on Webmasterworld claimed that he made one million in Adsense earnings in 3 months. He said that he only spent one hour a day on it.

If you read through that forum more you'll see posts from the same person from a few years earlier when he was just getting started and not making nearly as much. Think I saw either $40/day or $40/month. There's a link to the older thread in the one you posted.

Most people don't make a lot of money with AdSense though some certainly do. Those that do put in a lot of hard work to get to the point where they can take it easier now.

I applaud Markus for making what he's making, but lets not be misled that just anyone can repeat his success.

I don't blame you. I am too. I just want to be realistic about it. If you read the thread it's pretty interesting and has some good tips about improving your AdSense revenue.

Adsense is fine but won't get you the big advertising dollars. Get in touch with companies that are directly related to the content of your site, build a connection with them and eventually you'll land a big advertising contract and those haul in lots when you bypass ad wholesellers.

Well said. I recently started a new directory targeted to my city. I have set all advertising to look something like google's. Only the advertiser would have to go directly throught me. I figured start small and build up. Sounds easy, we'll see.

I remember this site on a news site on my google customizes pade. It was titled "ugly sites make money" or something. This site is not as "pretty" as most but if he makes that it proves people feel better dealing with "people" and not some page that looks like some pro typed it up. Not that a good page isnt important but maybe a normal site is good too?

TheNegotiator you are right. If someone wants to advertise on my site i don't use adsense. I do my own rotation (phpadsnew) and then they just send me the money through paypal. Why pay google when you have the advertisers right in front of you.
