I have no idea how this happened, but somehow my Java that was installed on my computer got corrupted. I go to Microsoft to figure out the problem and see that Microsoft is no longer dealing w/ Java? Is that correct? I went to java.com and followed their instructions and it didn't work, so I e-mailed w/ a tech. They sent me several instructions and the last resort was to uninstall Java and reinstall it. I also had to install something else to go w/ it, but don't remember what this was (I have since just uninstalled all of it again and left it). None of this has worked and I no longer have Java installed onto my computer. I have learned just how much Java is used all over the Internet!! It drives me batty to see that little, red x in the corner of a box.

Could someone PLEASE help me with this?? I tried to e-mail w/ a Java tech person again, but ended up getting the exact same person that I had e-mailed w/ before and he sent me the exact same stuff as before. Seemed to me that he would have been of little more use already knowing my dilema.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out.

Try Uninstalling the program and re-install the latest version.

Reactor, thanks for responding.
I have tried doing that.....several times. I did get as far as getting the little logo in my window but it didn't stay long and I do have the area in the browser that I can select "Java Console" and when I do select it, nothing happens. It goes through the download process, but doesn't seem to complete installing itself. I'm hoping that installing it on the new hd will help.
