Hi,

I have a personal website. I have a forum and let guest user enters messages anonymously there.

I am seeing someone come to my site and entering dirty messages as guest user. I tried to bann the ip address but this person uses different ip address at each time. I have to check and remove his/her dirty messages about three times a day.

I can't disable the guest (anonymous) from participate in forum.

I wish I could catch and punish this person. Can someone please tell me how and where to report this abuse so this will be stop ASAP.

Thanks.

Why can't you disable guests posting?

Best thing to do is to prevent epople doing it, not going after them after they have done it. It's like locking your front door is better than catching the guy who robbed you.

Thanks for the response. I have disabled the guest's post access to the forum. I am still receiving dirty messages from one time (multiple) member, they were using the different email and ip at each time.

I still want to know, is there a place that I can report so they can monitor and punish them?

Use a tool to look up which ISP the IP Address was assigned to, and find out their contact details - complain to the ISP. That's your best first point of call. You can also find out what IP Address range the ISP uses, so if the abusive person is using the same ISP each time and the ISP isn't being helpfull, you can just block the entire range (if it's a small ISP).

Thanks. I have tried it. This person used all crazy numbers. I will track their host from now on and see what else I can do. Thank you again.
