We have just been having a conversation in the office about what could and, how we can make our working day easier.

We came up with a few really good examples like having our homepages set with sites we visit regularly to having a page with frames which constantly display certain sites for our business.

How do you as a webmaster make your working day go quicker and, more importantly, how do you make it less monotamous yet more profitable?

Do you have a system in place that enables you to go to any site you own or operate or, need to visit on a daily basis at the click of a button?

No real point to this thread other than my curiosity lol

Regards,

Lee

I have made a litte homepage for myself to make things quicker. Its a simple frames page, one large content frame, a search box at the top and links down the side:

1. Links - The sites I visit most often. Each morning I can just go down the list and the sites load in the main frame. When I've finished with one I go on to the next. I know I could do that with the 'Favourites' but I have far too many of them and I can use this away from my home computer as well.

2. Search box - I built this, but don't use it much. Basically it gives me search for Download.com, Domain names, PHP Functions and the Google pages I use (although I usually use the toolbar for that). Again, they open in the main window.

3. Main Window - Opens by default to BBC News in the top half and the Register in the bottom half, so I can keep up with all the news when I come online.

Other things that help my productivity (a little!):
1. Multimedia keyboard so that I can open home page, windows explorer and e-mail with the keyboard
2. Windows QuickLaunch bar - Much faster than opening things from the start menu or the desktop
3. KazzaSearch - Doesn't really help my productivity(!) but its a nice little program I found which lets you make a text file of songs to search for, then you load it into the program and it will download them all.
4. Custom Stats - This one's more of a webmaster one. I found that when using stats programs I was always checking referrers and not much else, so I now have my own stats system that outputs the last 100 unique referring URLs and I can click on them and they open in a new window. Much quicker than going through the menus and pages of most stats programs.
5. Quick Reply Box on WT - Need I say any more!

I have a very strict method that I use when I get in to work. I didn't just sit down and say YES im going to do it this way, but over the years you just develop internet patterns.

This really saves me from waisting time. I have been able to be VERY productive!
