Dear all,

I have used one machine with XP Pro and recently bought Dell 9150 that came with XP home.

Now that I use Dell9150 more often, I would like to swap operating software between the two, letting DEll 9150 have XP Pro and the old one XP home.

What is the best way to do this...?

I tried upgrading Dell9150 XP home to Pro, but that did not work well...

I hate to start from scratch with clean install also for it will take long time to do so reloading all the softwares that I have...

There must be an easier way, right?

How about swapping the hard drives?

That was the first I thought of, but I can't simply because old computer's hard disks are IDE type while new ones are SATA drives...

Any other idea?

A clean install is a good thing to do from time to time. My advice is to back all your files up and just do it. It'll probably take less than a day to get everything back to normal.
